ITZ GREAT!!!
This is a great calender.
Each day you rip off a page. Except on weekends there is one page that says SAT/SUN. Each page has a picture and a fact or Trivia question. It's great getting to read the facts and the trivia questions. You can save the pages if you want too. I RECOMMEND TO ALL!!! I hope they will make one for 2003 will Survivor 1-2-3&4 pictures! :):):):):):):)

Survivor box calender
I really liked this calender because it has a full color picture on almost every page. The only bad part is that saturday and sunday are combined and that some days have no pictures at all!! I even noticed printing errors. On a couple Survivor 2 pages, it had the Survivor 1 background and logo. This calender is really fun to look at. I never throw away the pages when the day is gone.

the best Calender made
this Calender has good Pictures I really like Jan 24th!!

Thank You, Sarah : The Woman Who Saved Thanksgiving
Published in Hardcover by Simon & Schuster Children's Publishing (01 October, 2002)
Authors: Matt Faulkner and Laurie Halse Anderson
Average review score:

A great biography/historical fiction piece
An amazing biography!! Sarah's life is turned into a superhero-like story that is really interesting. All the details of her life are left out, only leaving the most important and exciting information. Anderson addresses issues children can identify with and uses plenty of exciting words like secret weapons and superhero. The illustrations are full of humor, wit, and extensions of historical information. The story has humor and suspense, something very different from traditional biographies.

Simply Wonderful!
This is one of the finest books in the holiday cannon ever. The prolific heroine will inspire readers of all ages seeking to learn about the making of an American tradition. The historical veracity, pithy writing and imaginative artwork afford classic status to this one. Bravo, Sarah!

Thank You Sarah review
I read Thank You Sarah for a project for the Waukazoo library. I thought it was a good because it is about Thanksgiving and I think Thanksgiving is a special holiday. I think kids 9 years old or younger would enjoy this book in the 3rd grade. I recommend this book.

Those Beautiful Eyes : A Novel of 2700 B.C. and the Present Day
Published in Paperback by Writers Club Press (November, 2001)
Author: Ann Cowart Lutzky
Average review score:

Those Beautiful Eyes
I thoroughly enjoyed Ms. Lutzky's "Those Beautiful Eyes". Slipping back and forth through time kept me on my toes but the modern characters were so involving that I found myself wondering about them and where the story was headed...much as one would absently think about friends and their lives.

Of course I identified with certain characters and their struggles with life and relationships. Very convincing stuff. I suspect that Ms. Lutzky has indeed a connection to another time and place...a must read!

Hypnotic, engaging and fascinating
A beautiful story of transcendence; transcendence of passion and will of a beautiful priestess in an ancient time to transcendence of time and space. A fascinating life journey that plays out in exotic sites across the world with seamless writing by the author. The colorful character of Anarishka stimulates the imagination. Anne Cowart Lutzky's writing is novel, intriguing, and absorbing. Highly recommended.

Antiquity and the modern day Bay Area -- wonderful mix
I received this book from a friend, who had some personal knowledge of the author. It was mesmerizing from the first chapter. The change in time from chapter to chapter was well done, never producting that disorientation that I often feel when reading books that go back and forther over many years and places. It was sensual and erotic in a beautiful way, without resorting to the many cliches that such scenes seem to show. My favorite chapter is written from the point of view of a cat. It is so well done, that I had to read it out loud to my husband.

I read this book at the beach while recovering from the flu. It made the mist more magical and reality less appealing.

Toni's Topsy-Turvy Telephone Day
Published in Hardcover by Abrams Books for Young Readers (May, 2001)
Author: Laura Ljungkvist
Average review score:

Let's Play Telephone.....
Toni has decided to have a potluck party and calls six of her good friends on the phone, to tell them what to bring. Unfortunately, they all live or work in noisy environments and can't quite hear her instructions clearly. Ruth lives near the airport and instead of punch and lemonade brings a pooch and a maid. Vera, the dogwalker can't make out steak for kabob and brings a snake and a snob instead. Fiona was supposed to supply the salad and juice, but she lives by the fire station and brought a sailor and a moose. And so on... Now Toni has even more guests than she knows what to do with, and no food for her party. Her quick thinking and noisy friends solve the problem by calling and ordering pizza, but even the pizza man can't quite hear the order correctly..... Laura Ljungkvist has written a delightful and inventive story that anyone who has ever played the game of telephone will easily identify with. Her humorous text is only outdone by her amazingly creative and innovative illustrations, full of bold colors, geometric shapes and a telephone line that literally connects the entire assemblage from the beginning of the story to the end. Perfect for youngsters 4-8, Toni's Topsy Turvy Telephone Day is a winner the entire family will enjoy and is sure to have everyone giggling and laughing every time it's read.

herring and aquavit
Laura Ljungkvist's book is a winner with both my daughter and my cat. It is a very clever and engaging story (did she think this up on her own??) but also beautifully illustrated. I like the color development from start to finish. It is a very inventive and beautiful book. Its also very funny.

Great read
Our daughter (5 years) cannot get enough of this book. She loves for us to read it out loud, and to trace the illustrations with her finger.

The book is about Toni's potluck dinner party. She calls and asks her friends to bring things to her party, but every request is misunderstood and the story grows from there.

The wonderful illustrations consist of a single line. The colors are spectacular.

Trip Around the World Quilt (Quilt in a Day Series)
Published in Paperback by Quilt in a Day (October, 1988)
Authors: Eleanor Burns and Christine Z. Clementi
Average review score:

Quick, Easy Quilt That Looks Lovely
I recommend this book to anyone who would like to be able to make a lovely quilt in a relatively short amount of time. Eleanor Burns' efficient, time-saving techniques are perfect for those of us who love quilts but aren't interested in long, drawn-out, complicated projects. When I bought this book, my sewing background consisted of three group sewing classes at the local fabric store. My only quilting experience was piecing together a pinwheel-design potholder. However, by using this book, I was able to sew my first quilt, a "Trip Around the World" baby quilt that turned out beautifully. I then used this book to piece together a queen-size "Trip Around the World" quilt top in just one Saturday (about 12 hours). Eleanor Burns' techniques are effective and easy to follow, and the results look terrific!

Trip Around the world Quilt (quilt in a day Series)
This a a great book, This was only the second quilt I made and it was very easy to follow. So beginner don't be scared off by the tubes, once you see how they are made, you will love the ease of it.

Kudos once again
Well she has done it again. Eleanor Burns has made this quilt so easy. I had tried it once before and none of my squares matched at the points but this was almost effortless. The only thing that was a bit tricky was the unsewing, but after a try or two even that was simple. The results were wonderful and very fulfilling. It never ceases to amaze me how Mrs. Burns makes her quilts easy and fast. I made the double size in about 10 hours and was suprised at how easy the cutting requirements were in this particular quilt. This is one that you have got to try.

Talk to the Hands: Anthony's Days Shopping With Mom and Dad
Published in Paperback by 1stBooks Library (March, 2003)
Author: Lee Brooks
Average review score:

funny book
I like how Anthony uses his hands as friends. One hand is a good guy and the other hand makes smart remarks. I laughed when the smart remarking hand says, "is there a rock somewhere around here that we can hide under and you'd be better off piloting tug boats and nuh uh, last time we helped you find some clothes, sister, ya snapped! Smash, bam, crunch is all I saw, I love it, I love it, I love it."

26 Chapters Of Pure Humor
Every chapter was very interesting and Funny as little Anthony grudgingly went to the mall with his parents as they shopped for clothes. Not too amusing too a little boy full of energy and so he'd sometimes use his hands as though they were answering back to him with their own little personalities. Very cute! He also becomes a hero, with the help of a security guard who happens to love publicity, while at the mall and wins his parents a shopping spree. Oh how I wish that for me! The touch of adding an over zealous security guard in the story adds extra flavor to the story as well. He challenges Anthony to a video game match...guess who won that? I found it astoundingly neat how Anthony made time to watch his favorite cartoon while at the mall that showed five sock puppets saving the planet and had the ability to unite and call on a giant sock puppet to get rid of an invading alien from outer space. Great illustrations even if they were in black and white. You owe it to yourselves, this is a must buy! I can read any of the 26 chapters to my three children and they enjoy them all.

REFRESHING!
I think the book was great from begining to end. I enjoyed reading it and so did my children.

Thirty-Day Fiance (Silhouette Desire, 1179)
Published in Paperback by Harlequin (November, 1998)
Author: Leanne Banks
Average review score:

A good read but not the best in the series
Millionaire Dad was the best in my opinion and Lone Rider was pretty good. Ok its a tie for second between Lone Rider and Fiance. But good by Banks is very good indeed.

Very Very Good
They love each other, it just take time to figure it out. I wasn't able to put it down.

Another 5 star by Ms. Banks
Well, if I encounter a poor book by LB I will let you know. This is an author I plan on buying (if I haven't already!) every title she has written. Real people, real situations, a real gem. Read this book.

A Time for Love
Published in Paperback by Zebra Books (Mass Market) (January, 1999)
Author: Constance O'Day-Flannery
Average review score:

great read
I read this book years ago and reread it just recently. It's tender and sweet and leaves you breathless. The only drawback is that the author dates the writing of the book with her use of modern-day celebrities- I didn't like that. It's a great story of a woman who lives in a time that has nothing for her- no special friends, family or events to keep her where she is. She finds her destiny in the past. If you can open your mind enough to believe that this could happen, you will love this story.

Magically entertaining....
I love this story! The characters are warm and enjoyable to read. The tale, although obviously unbelievable, takes one on a fun fantasy ride. Elizabeth's travel to the past are created with a lot of humor and unusual circumstances. The fact that she has no family or friends, gives you a strong indication of where she will make her final choice to remain when the choice becomes hers. Nevertheless, this was a wonderfully entertaining story, filled with humor and romance. Highly recommended!

A Time for Love
I started reading Constance O'Day-Flannery's books back in 1987 and I was hooked! I especially like the way she connected her characters with her first few books. All of her stories have captured my heart. I have never been disappointed in her books, they take me to places I've only dreamed about and into the lives and loves of her characters. Once I pick up her book I cannot put it down. As with this book, "A Time for Love" I felt as if were there. She truly is a wonderful writer. I look forward to her next book with great anticipation and excitement.

Twilight Comes Twice
Published in Library Binding by Houghton Mifflin Co (20 October, 1997)
Authors: Kate Kiesler and Ralph Fletcher
Average review score:

Twilight Comes Twice
I recommend this book for 5-10 year oids because I think people who like poetry should read this book. I liked ho a girl made dawn and night sound beautiful I thik this book is great and you might like it to.

twilght comes twice
This book puts a lot of descriptive writing in it. It doesn't really have a problem. I love the way the author says "slowly dusk pours the syrup of darkness into the forest". In the pictures, they always put the girl's dog with the girl. I think you would like thiss book if you are 9 and up to 12. I loved this book. Giuliana G.

Gentle and calming beautiful illustrations with poetic prose
A story set in a suburban neighborhood with a girl and her dog doing various activities as the sun rises or sets. The first part of the book is about dusk and the second part is about dawn. The text is poetic and beautiful. The text is on one page and the illustrations are on the other page; this is a larger sized hardcover book. The illustrations are beautiful paintings, all with the special hues of dusk or dawn. Some of the scenes are: the girl and dog playing in a sprinkler while bats fly overhead and fireflies fly at their feet, two fisherman on the shore of a lake, and the girl and dog taking a walk through the woods at dawn. The poetic nature of the text is rarely found in modern children's books and is a joy to read. "When the sky is full and singing with stars you know that twilight has given way to true night." This is a gentle and calming book to read.
